Dell Latitude
This is my old Dell laptop, which I usually call "big silver." I got this while I was going to school in Idaho.
When I had gotten this laptop, he was running Windows 7, and I actually liked Windows 7. He ran Windows 7 for quite a while, skipping past 8, and going to Windows 10. Almost all of my first coding experience (in any serious way) was done on this machine.
He was my daily driver for a very long time, until I got the Microsoft Surface (Little Silver). When the Surface had gotten a bad update from Microsoft, the Dell went back do being my daily.
This machine is big, and bulky, and looks very outdated now, but it does quite well even today. I still pull it out occasionally. But as all things to, it's slowed down as it got older, and I moved it from Windows to Ubuntu.
I do plan on using this machine to test drive other Linux distros, but for now, it doesn't see much action. The poor thing has been through a lot of abuse. It even had its barrel-style charge port violently torn out from someone tripping on the cable at one point. Some of the keys are falling off the keyboard, and it has plenty of dings, scratches, and scars from traveling around the US, going to classes in two different schools, all while playing games that had no business being on that kind of laptop.
This is probably one of the best built computers I ever had, and I really appreciate all it's been through over the years.
